"The awesome nostalgic dream come true!"
Retro City Rampage DX is a improved version of the original Retro City Rampage that was on consoles and PC, so knowing that let's talk about the game!
Retro City Rampage is a sandbox game similar like the old Grand Theft Auto games like 1 & 2 but more 8-bit to have a retro game console feel like the Nintendo Entertainment System, you can go around doing missions/quests or you can go around killing everyone and stealing things. You control the main character named "Player" and navigate this land of retro nostalgia stuff that older gamers will know about or ones who knows about old things, these things consist of games/tv shows/media and you will know it when you see it. The game is basically references parodies classic things like Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, Back to the future, Nintendo Power and many more things by making fun of characters, inspired characters, inspired stage props, names and more.

So the story begins by player joining a criminal gang, stealing things and planning crimes when by accident he gets sent back to the past, meets Doc who says player is the chosen one and they try to fix the time machine. So throughout the game you must collect parts to fix the time machine and do other things as well, you can enjoy over 60 story missions, over 40 arcade challenges, over 25 weapons and power-Ups, over 50 vehicles to steal and equip along with over 200 character customizations.
The gameplay is smooth and has a retro feel/charm to it, all you do is move around on foot or in a vehicle, you have the ability to jump/stomp and use weapons/items, you can go around doing missions or fool around and collect coins to buy things like guns, vehicles, customizations for your character or vehicle and so on. The music in the game is really enjoyable, it's 8-bit music, there is 2.5+ hours of music which you can listen in 13 radio stations and some other places.

The extra features in the DX version is bigger effects, remastered missions/challenges/mini games, vehicle animations, better dynamic camera, mini map on the touch screen that you can interact with, select weapons with the touch screen, buy and hijack weapons, easier way to loose cops, new UI, 24 tv color modes (changes the way the game looks in color. There will also be 16 months of updates, the first one will let you add way points on the map, add animation to the Dysentruck and fix a bug that deletes data.
A thing to mention is that the game has special guests from games and other things, we have Commandervideo from Bit Trip, Meat boy from Super Meat boy, Mr. Destructoid from Destructoid.com, and some people from epic meal time, they appear in this game as playable characters and have their own mini games or places throughout the map, the game even includes the prototype of Rom City Rampage!

If I had to have any complaint about the game it would be that some vehicles go too fast for their own good sometimes and if the cops are on you they can hit you with their car and you wouldn't see it coming since it's so fast!, the Bit Trip game is hard to beat, also co-op would of been nice or a survival mode.
At the end of the day, the game is awesome and will crack a smile on retro gamers, it's fun and will continue add and improve within the future months, only $9.99, you need 124 blocks to download the game, it's worth it!
